Core Facilities

Core facilities provide open-access services that require specialized equipment, well-trained staff and specific facilities. In the case of mouse facilities, laws on experimental animals as well as gene modified organisms regulate the set-up of facilities and education of personnel. Transgenic core facilities provide services in generation of GM mice such as pronuclear microinjection, blastocyst injection, embryo transfer, embryonic stem cell cultures. Close collaboration with animal facilities is of crucial importance.

Biocenter Oulu transgenic core facility provides a wide repertoire of services in generation and archiving of gene modified mice.

The GM mouse unit of the Laboratory Animal Center, University of Helsinki, provides services on gene modified mice for both researchers of the University of Helsinki and external customers.

Focus on science and science driven services using advanced animal models TCDM is a research and research service organisation at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Turku.
